Bone Marrow Cells Help Human Hearts |
|
Transplantation of bone marrow cells into a severely damaged heart may be a new way to treat heart disease patients who have exhausted all other treatment options, researchers report. The treatment also improved the heart's ability to pump blood and restored blood flow to oxygen-starved heart muscle, says Hung-Fat Tse, MD, an associate professor of medicine and deputy director of the Research Center of Heart, Brain, Hormone, and Healthy Aging at the University of Hong Kong. If findings of the small study pan out in future research, it could mean a new treatment option for the thousands of Americans with severe buildup of atherosclerotic plaque in their arteries, severe chest pain, and no other treatment options for coronary artery disease. |

How Can Non-Smokers Develop Lung Cancer |
|
The recent death of Dana Reeve has raised many questions about lung cancer development in those who are non-smokers. Reeve, who never smoked a cigarette died of lung cancer and apparently did not show any symptoms of the disease. Researchers believe that second hand smoke plays a prominent role in lung cancer development in non-smokers. Limiting first hand and second hand exposure is essential for both men and women to reducing the risk factor for lung cancer.
Lung cancer can develop because of radon imbedded in dirt below residential homes. Tests are available to check the radon level in and around your home. Many od these tests are available free of charge from you local health department.
Estrogen may also be a factor in lung cancer development, just like in breast cancer development in women. Studies suggest that blocking estrogen may prevent lung cancer from growing. Genetics may also be responsible for lung cancer development. Researchers have found genes that can greatly increase the risk factor for lung cancer development. This finding may explain why people who smoke 3 packs a day may never develop lung cancer, while one who only smokes 5 a day develops it. It may be a matter of who is carrying this gene. |

Steps to that Perfect Blusher |
|
The most flattering of the colour cosmetics – that not only accentuates the cheek bones but gives the impression of a soft healthy glow, is the blusher. Selective and clever usage omits the needs for shaders – especially during day time. Use two shades of the same colour-a light and a dark to shape the face.
Procedure : Start from the bulbous piece at the entrance of the ear down to the corner of your mouth by placing a thin handled brush across the cheek. This helps define the angle.Use a light shade of blusher 2" up from the line and then use a dark shade 1" up from this line.Do not apply the blusher any lower down the cheek bone than the end of your nose.Do not apply the blusher closer to the centre of your face than the outer corner of your eye.Do not apply the blusher any higher than the temples.
