Finding the Right Swimming Suit for Yourself

Your holiday is booked and you are eagerly awaiting the moment when you can let down your hair and forget the stresses of daily life as you relax on the beach. But which suit would highlight your curve?

PEARS

If your problem areas are thighs and tummy, then you want a swimsuit that draws attention to your upper body. Try bold prints like florals or stripes, with plain deep-sided bottoms in darker shades - you don't have to stick to black, try dark brown or blue. For the very self-conscious, a floaty skirt or sarong will hide any bulges. Alternatively, tankinis give great midriff coverage, as long as the top and bottom of the suit meet.

 BIG BUST

If you're top-heavy, it's essential you get the right support for your breasts. Tankinis with built-in support provide control and added cover. Block colours are best but they don't have to be boring - this year sees lots of cool aquas and hot pinks.

If you prefer separates, then comfortable and supportive tops including triangle bikinis and halternecks will be your best choice.

For tankinis, try black tankini and shorts with belted detail, or pink floral tankini and boy shorts, they're also the hot looks for this coming summer.

PETITES

Petite women tend to have short legs or small busts, both of which can be shown off. Flaunt cleavage with a deep plunge top or padding for uplift and support. Tropical inspired prints, beading and frills will add extra sizzle on the beach, and draw attention to your upper body.

Stick to standard briefs if you have short legs. Contrary to popular belief, boy-shorts and low-rise bottoms will make them even shorter, while those with side ties may accentuate your lack of height. You'd better choose multi-spot triangle padded bikini, or shorts with belted detail and halterneck top.

Not a fan of prints? Shell belted briefs and belted bikini is for you!

BOYISH

Add curves with low-rise bikini bottoms, to flatter a toned stomach. You could also opt for detailing around the back like ruffles or brightly coloured stripes or prints. Hipster hotpants and briefs with side ties will help elongate your legs and enhance your silhouette. Go for a triangle bikini top that has padding or prints to disguise any lack of a cleavage.

With a slim silhouette, you're lucky to wear almost anything you like such as bikini with bandeau top.
